A concert with, like, actual food?!?!?
So there’s this festival called the Shindig. The audience is about equal parts hipsters, families, and punk people. And me. And by me I mean the most generic mainstream nobody you could imagine. A guy in a band tee just … Continue reading

Told you I had more ice cream up my sleeve
Last month I traveled to Vermont – a trip, for once, with no work component. And ever since I was a teenager I’ve wanted to tour the Ben & Jerry’s factory. So we took a break from our brewery-filled schedule … Continue reading

You can barely see the green stuff, but it’s there!
Well, it isn’t very pretty, but here is a picture of a zucchini brownie from the batch I made yesterday. I’ve been meaning to try it for ages, there was an impromptu dessert party, and I already was baking with … Continue reading

Vegetarian food can be Rated F, too.
On Sunday, I had (a late) lunch at PB’s Tavern in Glassboro. Besides their extensive craft beer selection, they actually have a pretty good menu. I got this veggie sandwich with sweet potato fries and felt like a mega-blimp afterward.

Sad face (but yum)
Next week will be the last Collingswood farm market of the year! I’ll miss it. Today for lunch Tortilla Press had these unusual quesadillas: pumpkin, black beans and goat cheese. Unexpectedly sweet; reliably tasty.

Patriotic Eating (and Drinking)
In honor of Election Day, here are some cute links: What Your Booze Says About Your Politics What Your Food Says About Your Politics Hope you voted!
Unusual toppings
It’s not the much-missed pumpkin pizza from Rome, but this butternut squash version was pretty tasty. (Normally they make it with sausage; I skipped that part.) Hopefully it’ll taste good cold if this hurricane knocks power out. East coasters take … Continue reading
If this is what food’s like in suburban California I’m moving there tomorrow.
This last California post has been a long time coming – that was two months ago! I wanted to devote some time to writing this one and it just never came. So now here it is. Haven Gastropub in Pasadena. … Continue reading

Seriously?
Long story short, a few weeks ago I had to go to On The Border for an interminable lunch that I couldn’t find a way out of. Being not hungry enough for the veggie option of a whole bunch of … Continue reading
