If this is what food’s like in suburban California I’m moving there tomorrow.

This last California post has been a long time coming – that was two months ago! I wanted to devote some time to writing this one and it just never came. So now here it is. Haven Gastropub in Pasadena. I’ve written that my brother and I have very different tastes. I had to nag him to go here after Disneyland because I’d seen it on the Untappd app and it intrigued me. But I think even he liked it quite a bit. They had good beer, and when we got the appetizer I knew it would be all good:

These chips were delicious and smothered in rosemary and garlic. If they hadn’t been so filling we would have fought over who was eating more of them.
This was the main vegetarian dish – roasted veggies and a couple of gnocchi – and while it wasn’t what I was expecting exactly, it was very good:

But the real piece de resistance was the dessert, a beer float (made with strawberry beer) and chocolate chip cookies that effectively made me die of happiness:

Maybe it’s because we were traveling that it seemed so good. But someone needs to invent a teleportation device so I can pop in there whenever I like.
