Mangiare l’avocado

So one of my best memories from college was when I stayed with the aunt and cousin of a classmate while we were doing study abroad in Italy. Among other things, we got to talking about guacamole or something – I can’t remember quite how we got here. But the main thing was that we were talking about avocado. Now what makes this funny is that in Italian, there is a very similar word, avvocato. It means “lawyer.” Do you see where I’m going here? Hilarity ensued. Our conversation ended with us all in tears of laughter, the aunt slapping her knees, crying, “Mangiare l’avvocato! Mangiare l’avvocato!” Good times.

Anyway, I tried something different with this one. I can assure you no lawyers were harmed in the process.

Dressing is olive oil, lime juice, a little salt, and julienned basil. Whole thing topped with feta.
